Haze Craze
Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Last week was crazy!!! Not just because there that huge news about the hazardous haze going on but because it was also kinda exam week which just started on monday..... well.... I would really say life is tough. I think the PSI(Pollutant Standard Index) reached like around 300-400+?

Yes it was horrible and yes it was hard to look from quite afar specially in the other parts of Singapore. So how did it happen?.... Well I heard that there was some sort of "Illegal forest burning" in Indonesia for this oil plant or something?

(for further details http://www.scotsman.com/news/international/singapore-smog-fears-as-indonesia-s-forests-burn-1-2972653)

And well as the forest burning happened... the wind kinda blew the smoke here (Singapore), Malaysia and I think some parts of Indonesia too.

Since my school wasn't cancelled as holidays' had just ended, the school provided some basic masks.

Yeah the picture on the right was a photo taken on an overhead bridge on my way home from school.
I think it was the next day from which this photo was taken where it reached a PSI reading of 400+? but I am not so sure if that was a 100% true.... but when I woke up and opened my door.... you could already smell the haze.... and by looking at the window everything was just WHITE.

Of course a few days later, it started to calm down.

This experience really showed me that a lot of people really complain about the smallest details of things... people arguing, blaming, etc.... yes I felt as if everyone's getting mad and all. People(the government people) are trying to do something but just because the rest of the people don't see it, they shouldn't just keep blaming..like out of nowhere some people just started blaming the smokers or the fact that students demanded to have no classes... they should either do and help out what ever could be done or just please "ignore the haze if you don't wanna do anything about it"..... yeah this is coming from a person so tired of people complaining and what not.

Oh great now I am complaining about people who complain.... WHYYYYY?!?!?!

Okay enough about the haze..... My weekends were AWESOMEEEEEE!!! For the first time in my like what 1+ year of staying here in Singapore, last Sunday was the first time I went to USS and rode the rides and whatever tourists do there...pictures/blablabla....

After church, I went there with the two lovely and crazy Gurtiza sisters. I met some people who were supposed to portray some movie/fairytale characters, went on a real outdoor roller coaster and drank a slushy!!!

OMG!!! I totally forgot.... Happy Belated Fathers' Day to my PAPA!!!.... haha, sorry its so late I know it was like 2 sudays' ago but I was a bit busy preparing for my exams as they were about to start.

"PAPA!!!!!!!!!! You have been a wonderful father to us, you really do things that you think is best for us.

When it comes to arguing with you I might be really annoying because
you seem to be always right whenever I'm against it and the fact that kame nila ate, we may neglect a lot but we're teenagers/young adults....theres like hormones all over the place. So sorry if things like that happen again in the future.

Don't forget that you have raised us 3 girls really well with mama.... to come to think of it.... 1 engineer, 1 designer.... and 1 na hinde pa po sure kung anong gustong maging. I would say na it really took life's dedication to raise us as a father. I mean ate Karen and ate Kresta, THEY HAVE GRADUATED and now paying bills on their own.... and I will too pretty soon!! (diba po? heheh...)

Well, don't forget that kahit na malalayo po tayong lahat and all the troubles that may happen in the future might be painful.... we are still and always sana a bonded loving family, no matter what happens.

Thank you rin po for allowing me to study here in Singapore!!! Because that was one of my many goals in life....so I will make it worth it!!

LOVE YOU PAPA!!!!!

Study grocery then work out
Wednesday, June 12, 2013

Hey there!!!! Might be almost midnight when I post this cause I am currently resting... and eating a banana so I am using this little free time to update... for fun :)

So let me rewind back what happened this morning.

Let's see... I woke up early at around 7am (yeah pretty early for me considering its currently my holiday) and ate healthy Oatmeal for breakfast!! :P

After that, I started revising until I had to meet up with Heui Jun for lunch-(my food buddy-we usually eat together during lunch or snack breaks on regular classes), we ate at subway and I ordered a Chicken and Bacon Ranch since I needed meat as I am kinda low in iron and I was planning to try every flavor before I graduate-and because I've started getting tired of tuna... which I normally ordered. Meanwhile, Heui Jun ordered her favorite meatball marinara! (btw, I introduced it to her ;) hehe.... just sharing)

Then we attended our revision workshops or so called "lectures" just that we have a "Question and Answer Session" so our first Module(subject) was Operations Planning 1 and well it ended earlier than expected. When it ended, we both snacked on some "Takoyaki" and gosh how much I have missed that taste!

So we had a lot of spare time while we were waiting for our Statistics Module revision workshop and well.... we took a few pictures :P

That workshop was wayyyyy longer than the timing in which it was supposed to end. Not only was it long physically...but to me, mentally..... my eyelids were really heavy in the middle of the session though  I tried to stay awake..... so this happened until one of the presentation slides caught my attention then I was able to concentrate.

After, I bought food from the vegetarian stall below my unit.... I ate green beans, sweet and sour pork and tofu!!!- with out any rice so I rested for a while.... and Skyped with my sisters until they decided to eat to this burger place and I decided to go grocery shopping since I am almost out of bottled water.

Hahahaha.... trust me I struggled while I was shopping.... so I took my necessities.... water, sliced cheese, shampoo and so on.... until I passed by the chips section.... well I spent hours deciding whether to buy this packet of potato chips..... I took and put it back several times.... its as if I could feel the man behind the CCTV's laughing at me..... in the end I placed it in another area of chips of the same kind and took a branch of bananas instead :|

I walked back home with the heavy hand-carried groceries, rested for a few minutes.... moped up my room and started my "Intense workout" and finally here and I have finished 2 whole bananas and has come for me to finish up this post and time for me to wash up and sleep.... Goodnight Planet earth!!!!

Birthdays with Organization Meetings
Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Monday which was yesterday was pretty normal started with an International Club Meeting for the I-Star Singing Competition 2013.... and well it took longer than expected but I had to leave halfway since I had the Cyriva meeting going on too at the same time.... and well during that meeting I was pretty much preoccupied about the setting up of the birthday treat of one of our very one members "Fathin" :)

Today on the other hand is the birthday of my closet BUDDY whom I have met here in Singapore, "Elaine"....she met up with "Desmond", another close friend.... so they were eating "Xiao Long Bao" which I love eating just this afternoon and well I'm stuck at home, resting...so they shared me this picture :( it looks good....

Well Happy Birthday Elaine, glad I met you since you thought me about the local words, things and places here in Singapore..... YOUR AWESOME!!! <3 p="">

Great sunday!!! with pancakes!!!

So recently, I still have my "eating healthy going on" because I found out that I am overweight!!
I checked my weight and I am now 66.3kg! :'(
So using the BMI formula, I had to loose at least 5kg to get back to normal.... I have been trying to eat home food that dont contain any oily or fried stuff during my holidays.... and because of that, I have been eating poached eggs, jam-ed bread, yogurt, apples, oatmeal, and drinking yakult and power berries/veggie juice. Until Sunday came along :(

Sunday was great though....went to church with Dianne and Vanessa, btw.... they died their hair purple and a bit of pink for Dianne.... and since they were both wearing all black, I kept teasing them as "GOTHS"! :D

Well, after church we ate at Manhattan Fish Market and well I didnt take any photos or anything but I ate this Grilled Cream Dory fish with rice tossed with a few carrot and broccoli pieces and a side order of cheesy fries and it was delicious.

For dinner we went to Dhoby Gaut to reach "Strictly Pancakes" since I was craving for them and here are the photos.

A photo of us while we were waiting for the pancakes which took 30 mins or so - this is Dianne's new version of photo-bomb...showing almost half her head cause "full face was too mainstream"

So from afar I thought that it was tequila and a slice of lemon but when it got served to us....I found out it was margarine and maple syrup :|

Dianne's order of sweet "What a Spread" pancake

Vanessa's Savory "Garlic buttered prawns"

My very own sweet "Lemon curd for the nerds"
It was amazing during my first few bites until I got halfway done and started getting tired of it.

Anyways on our way to dinner, we met one of the minions in the Cathay Building!
I CANT WAIT TO WATCH "DESPICABLE ME 2"!!!

So indeed it was a well spent Sunday!
